According to the Tech Tips page on Axles, a 76-80 Camaro or Firebird should work. If anyone has a better suggestion let me know. Anyway, I know zip about rear-ends. Can someone give me some pointers on what I should look for (are the gears, barrings good, ect)? I hope to find one I wont have to rebuild.

Width wise it works real well. Mine came from under a wagon, and has larger brakes with finned drums.

The camaro / firebird rear is good if 5 lugs are ok - a bit on the narrow side if you want to put wide rubber on it - be aware of that when you pick your rims. | | |
