BTY thanks to all responders, especially "Restoman57". On to other things. Heat suppression or attenuation of heat from outside the passenger compartment. What do you guys use in the doors, roof and most important the firewall to "kill" the heat. Thanks

I have had numerous inquiries about the heat shield material. I do personally use this in our shop when stripping a vehicle out and apply for sound deadening and to reflect as much heat back out of the vehicle as possible. The material is available single or dual sided aluminum faced with an approx. 5/16" sound deadner applied. The best investment I ever made--bar none. Almost zero heat transfer through the material--you can put a blow torch on one side and feel nothing on the other side. The stuff is used in stock cars (about 1/8 in. thick, cut with scissors). I went from burning the #@&% out of my right foot within 30 miles from home and using the cruise control just to keep my foot from being medium rare to "AHH!, let's go for a long ride, honey!" BTW, I also used peel 'n seal in the doors, floor, and roof for insulation and sound proofing. | | |
