Can someone tell me how the lower (stock) seat fastens to the seat frame on a '42?

If your 42 is same as my 40, lower seat assembly sits over 2 pins sticking up from bars that mount across the gas tank surround frame. Seat & seat back are 1 piece. Seat back has clips that slide over brackets on the rear of the cab

Thanks, Bruce. I'll bet they're the same. I'll look a little closer. It seems that the pins may be missing.

Yes that is how they go together. I have a 42 also. If you need the two bars with the pins let me know.
