When I had to pull the 235 oil pan on my '62, I had to raise the front of the engine about a inch and a half to clear the oil pan.

It didn't seem to me there would be enough clearance to get the pan around the oil pump. He wants to clean the sludge out of the pan since this engine was apparently abused for a long time. We appreciate your response.
