Just a question concerning the seats for the 1937.
Does anyone know if these split bench seats are made today by anyone?

I have had my 37 truck for 28 years and have never seen any reproduction seats. Even though the 36.5 truck and 38 truck shared many of the same cab parts, I think both of them had the bench (one piece) seat.

I think some 38s had the split cushion,the seat that was in my 37 was a little different. The pass cushion looked like it was made to clear the filler neck for the gas tank and the feet on the backrest were up farther then the brackets on the body,I am guessing the seat was from a 38 due to the differences I found.

I cant tell if mine is original or not.. since hardly any History on it.The Old Vin number has long been gone. It does have a new Vin..

I found seats at www.glideeng.com 9141c is the model number of the seat I was planning on a little bit but I dont know what the measurement of this particular frame is.. I was wondering if there is enough space? Cant seem to get a reply
from glide engineering to get the frame measurements. Could one of you check with them maybe? They do have a toll free number but it dont work from Reindeerland.
I may most likely need to get the stand that this
seat sets on since Im taking out the gas tank and
putting in a Universal One under the bed.

This particular seat is no where close to original
but it wont look all that bad either. if thats the route I have to go.. Them Original seat frames are very difficult to find indeed.

RodDoors has a few different styles of seats, and one of them is a split back. They claim to have applications for the '37-'46 Chevy trucks.

Before I jumped in on non-original seats, I would run some ads on this sight and others for some seats and I would definitely check on the suggestion that Xram53 had with RodDoors.
It seems to me that seat frames should be fairly easy to find especially since so many guys "rod" their vehicles and switch out seats. You may not find all the seats in one place, it may take a few. All you need is the frames. A good upholster can make them look good!

My back seat came out of a 36 low cab truck and my bottoms came to me NOS out of a guys attic.

By the way, my right seat half also has the gas tank filler neck spot showing on the bottom of the seat even though my tank is filled under the seat.

I,ll keep lookin! wish I knew what the dimensions were of the seats at Glide Engineering or Rod Doors.. Maybe 6 cylindersovertexas or Jeff could measure the seats you have and let me know what the seat dimensions are? Mine still in the U.S.A.

On the RodDoors page link that I provided above, under "Other Applications", it says: "Seats are available in widths starting at 43" increasing in 2" increments up to 59"". Sounds like they can make whatever width you need (within those limits).

Classic Finn, I have a set of bottom seat frames (uncovered) for a 1937 Chevrolet truck. Yes it is split (two halves) left and right. What measurements do you need? Ralph

Measurements of the space between the shift, handbrake to the edge of the seat frame... The ones at Rod Doors are nice looking too.. Wife likes the Glide Engineering one if we cant find the bottom frames. But then original is what Im trying for... hmm trying!
