I have scrapped the 235 engine I previously listed but retained the following items for potential sale if anyone is interested. In keeping with forum rules I have listed prices for the items but I have not researched pricing and am therefore willing to consider any offers. I do have some pictures and can get specific pictures of anything that is required to help move these parts out of my storage area (I don't have a need for any of them). All prices are cash or paypal and do not include shipping.
Cylinder head - 848 with rocker shaft and rockers. $100 Starter - engine was in theory converted to 12v but I did not clean off the tag to confirm if the starter was changed (level of crud etc. would indicate it was not). $25 Intake and exhaust manifold - heat riser is free to move - $35 Sale Pending Carburetor - Rochester - $25 Distributor - complete with advance mechanism - $35 Bell Housing - previous had 4 - speed transmission attached - $25 Flywheel - I did not check the number of teeth on the ring gear, brief inspection did not show cracks or heat checking, clutch surface seems okay. $35 Clutch - lining material looks okay but probably would need to be relined. $25

Is the engine block beyond help for some reason? Jerry

This is the manifold as it sits. The oil filter assembly could be removed if not desired. There is a casting number on the intake portion that I believe is 3B35590.
The intake manifold is more likely "3835590" which is listed in my resource references as used on 1948-56 235's.
The exhaust manifold casting number "3835587" is also confirmed as being listed for 1948-56 235's.
Looks like a matched set ready to find a new home.
Best if luck!

There should be a casting number and casting date code on the other side of the flywheel. If you post those, we can confirm if it's a 6 or 12 volt piece.

THIS TECH TIP shows an easy way to figure out if you have a 6-volt or 12-volt flywheel. It just takes a tape measure or caliper.

That casting number 839754 777 is the same as the 9 bolt clutch flywheel I have that has the 139 teeth for 6-volt starters. I suspect that the D8 6 is the date code, meaning April 8 1946. If it were 1956 it would be a 12V. You can be sure by counting the teeth.

Here is a picture of the other side of the flywheel. The best I can determine there are 3 sets of numbers: GM 35; 839754 777; and D8 6 (??).
The casting number "839754" with 9 bolt clutch is associated with 1942-53 Chevy All Passenger and 1/2 ton trucks with heavy duty clutch.
D 8 6 = April 8th, 1946 casting date.
The applicable vehicles and casting date would make this a confirmed 6 volt flywheel.
Hope that helps make a sale for you.

Dan got there with the date code info as I was editing. The fact that it's a 9 bolt clutch flywheel will make it a little more difficult to sell, as 9-bolt pressure plates are bordering on unobtanium.

I am not sure about the D 8 6, but I did count 139 teeth. I will measure the distance across 9 teeth (ir is it 10?) per the Tech Tip to see if I can confirm its for a 6v or 12v starter.
I do have the pressure plate but I have no experiencce to know if it is serviceable.
Sometimes pressure plates (the contact plate itself) can be resurfaced too. Or if one can find a replacement (I easily found 3 different sellers on ebay at the moment - see below), you can get an NOS replacement "contact plate" and provide it with the existing pressure plate assembly to a rebuilder for restoring to as new condition.
A check of some Chevy Master Parts Books shows the clutch pressure plate assembly for your 9-bolt "heavy duty" unit to be cast on it as "838949" (at least on earlier 1938-52 heavy duty pressure plates), which matches all the ones I found offered in these sales:
Just my $.02 worth, but I'd offer the flywheel, clutch plate and pressure plate as a package deal. Or at least the clutch plate and pressure plate as they can both be rebuilt/restored.
