Hi,,

Anyone have a list of what trucks (or vans, RV's) came with the 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern 19.5" diameter rims? I'm missing one and they seem hard to find... I want to say they're from about '55-'59 Chev / GMC trucks (not sure of models, and years are a guesstimate) Maybe they came on some of the Grumman bread vans? (Though all i've seen on them is 19.5 DRW, and most in 10 lug)

Thanks!

Matt

Matt:

Below is an edit from the 1955-60 GMC Master parts book showing the applications for 8 stud 19.5" diameter wheels.

The "year series" decode as X = 56, T = 57, S = 58/9 and N = 60.

Model 15 = 3/4 ton, 25 = 1 ton. Add in the P makes it a delivery van and PM is a delivery van with Hydra-Matic transmission.

The rear being a "D" indicates a "dually" with a total of 4 wheels on the rear axle.

BUT (big but) some of these same models were also available with 16", 17" and 18" wheels.

Oddly enough, I'm also trying to locate one of these as a spare. Did you have any luck finding one?

If you find a source that has an extra one, would you mind letting me know?

Thank you.

Here's some more details on these 19.5 x 5.25 - 7/16" offset SRW 8 lug one piece rims from the Chevrolet side.

During a GMPartswiki search of "2339612" (the wheel Bill ID'd above from the GMC parts book), GM shows it being replaced by "3724686" effective 07/67. Searching the GM# 3724686, shows it is listed as one option being used on:

Chevrolet 1956-59 3/4 - 1 ton single wheel
Chevrolet 1960-61 Series 20 (3/4 ton) (4/WD & D-D) *
Chevrolet 1962-63 Series 30 (1 ton) (D-D)*

* D-D = Dubl-Duti Panel/Delivery Van

Going on in later year Chevy Master Parts Books, the "3724686" was later (1973) listed as "use 2339612", also dated effective 07/67. I think that's just basically confirming that the part numbers/wheels are interchangeable.

Both numbers were eventually washed out of GM listings, with the latest "3724686" I found dated 1990.

Anyhow, now that you have lots of details, it sound like it's maybe time to go post ads in our Truck Parts Wanted forum. Matt and Kon, please do your own ads as you're each in very different parts of the continent and we wouldn't want you competing over the same parts. wink
