Well I have successfully replaced the wire on this wiper motor and it is working. Hope it stays that way. Started with my vacuum wipers were not quite working so I was going to dig into it when I found an electric 6 volt motor on ebay. I did not know they had such a thing, but I guess it was a option. The seller was also Jim Carter truck parts so I knew the description was correct. The only issue was the old wire were it went through the housing was bare wire. After splitting the electric motor, the task was easy to replace the wire. I also put shrink tube on the inner wires as well. After the wires were fixed up, the fun begins to get the brushes back in and get them held in place while putting the halves back together, all while guiding the inner wires to the correct location. I had to walk away a few times from either frustration or hands cramping up, but I am glad I got it back up and running. Now I have to install under the dash.
Maybe but I think there was an option as it has an original wiper switch that came with it that is the same control that is on the vacuum wiper and made by ac delco .There are a few others on there but they looked like they were missing the switch ,not working or rebuilt and more expensive
39-53 GMC Master Parts Book lists an electric wiper motor part number 2113355 for EC 100 thru 350 models, which were late '46 models. But it looks nothing like your motor.
55-60 GMC Master Parts Book lists a 6 volt electric wiper motor for 55.2 trucks. Only 6v truck in 55.2 was 248 engine with standard transmission. Part number is 5047825. HERE is one for sale on ebay. The seller has it listed for '54-'55.1 Chevys.
I don't have 54-55.1 GMC parts books.

The 6volt windshield wiper motor Kevin shows is an extra cost option for 1954-55.1 (1st Series) Chevy trucks from what I can find. It's likely an exact match for the same years/models GMC trucks IMO.
Below is a screenshot from a 1929-57 Chevy Master Parts Book showing GM# 5047765 Motor, windshield wiper electric. 1954-55.1 would have been standard 6 volt trucks.

Kevin: Are pre-55 Canadian GMC trucks popsitive ground like their USA brothers?

Dan: Different part number between Chevy and GMC may be because of negative (Chevy) vs positive (GMC) ground. Motor would still run, just in the opposite direction. Given the back and forth action of the output of the wiper motor assembly, I don't know it it would make any difference.

Thinking a little and I guess if you switched the wires the body of the wiper motor would have to be wrapped so it don’t touch anything as the ground is through the body of the wiper .Maybe thinking too much 😜
