Bruce - How far would you travel to get one, or would you foot the bill for shipping?
I don't have anything to offer myself, but this info might help track down leads to meet your needs.
Best of luck in your hunt!

Thanks Bruce. I'll do some web snooping when I get a chance to see what might be out there and report back later.

Any AD hood from '47 to early 55' will work. The only difference is where the holes are for the side badges and the 47-53 front badge holes are recessed. The front badge holes on the 54'-55.1' are flush for some unknown reason, but they are in the correct place for either style of front badge. I have a 54' hood on my '49 3100. It fits well enough to have taken first place in all three of the biggest shows around here which are actually selected by qualified judges.

Bruce - I finally got a few moments to see if I could locate anything in your general area on FBM. Below are links to several FBM ads for hoods, and in some cases more than just hoods, somewhat in your vicinity (Eastern US) that might have something that will work for you. None of these are mine, just FBM posted ads I found through a search.

These hoods can be split in 1/2 for easier and cheaper shipping , by grinding the rivets that hold the 2 halves together. And then just simply bolt them back together. Machine screws and Nylock nuts.
