We are saddened to let you all know that Jerry "Hotrod Lincoln" Herbison's wife, Mary, passed away peacefully in her sleep last night (Sunday Night, 4 Oct). Please keep Jerry lifted up in your thoughts and prayers as he processes the next few hours, days, weeks...

Needless to say, he may be offline for awhile. If you are awaiting responses from him, your patience is appreciated.

We'll wait for Jerry to provide further details as he deems appropriate.

Thanks,
John

Thank you for letting the forum know, John. Mary had survived several strokes, a few cardiac arrests, she was on an oxygen concentrator machine, and she had a pacemaker. The past four years have been pretty difficult for her, so at least now she is at peace. I had checked on her about 2:00 this morning and adjusted her oxygen flow rate before going to bed. Her part-time sitter arrived about 9:30 AM to find her cold and unresponsive, so we didn't attempt any sort of heroic rescucitation. Apparently, she passed in her sleep without any final distress. We were just a couple of weeks shy of our 50th. anniversary.

October 24, 1976- - - - - --
Mary and I exchanged our vows on a Sunday afternoon in Atwater California- - - - -then we climbed into a worn out White Freightliner and spent our wedding night hauling 700 cases of Campbell's soup from Stockton California to Los Angeles! It's been quite a ride since then! Every day has been an adventure!

October 5, 2026- - - - -just three weeks short of 50 years- - - - the "'til death do us part" of those vows happened. Tonight, I'm feeling a profounds sense of loss, but an even more powerful feeling of gratitude for the time we were able to spend together. She gave me, and two children not of her own flesh and blood, more love, care, and compassion than any of us have ever deserved to have. Rest easy, Mary- - - - -the pain and suffering you experienced for far too long is finally over!
