I would try to find an electric repair shop to rebuild it.

I had my 6v generator for Ol' Roy and my 12v generator for The Bismarck rebuilt by this company in Conyers, GA. They did a great job, in my opinion.

Zip's Electric Rebuilding
1652 Highway 138 NE
Conyers, GA 30013

Rock Auto sells remanned units as well.

In case you order from Rock Auto, here's a 5% discount code valid through October 9, 2026:

Yes. One is $30 charge one is $56 charge. Both are using the same product photos so go with the cheaper one.

I'm not too happy with most new stuff , either which is why I had my original rebuilt.

Another option is to buy the new one and rebuild your original later on yourself.

Contact Then and Now Automotive. They might sell rebuild kits or do it for you. Their website is more or less useless so call them on the phone. They do excellent work.

I used this company and had them rebuild my original 6V AC Delco generator. I was very pleased with the results.

Thanks everyone, local radiator repair shop has someone who picks them up and repairs them. Radiator shop in business long time with good reputation so feel confident in repairs. Thanks again, will post with results.
