Glass beads do much less damage to the base metal- - - -sand and similar blast media will peen the metal and produce a ripple effect that's almost impossible to sand smooth again.

You have to watch your air pressure. Mark’s 60 grit garnet is a good choice.

Harbor Freight even has sandblast media They have 80 grit glass beads, which I have used successfully, and a coarser 70 grit aluminum oxide media. Both are finer than 60 grit, so less aggressive.
I would start at about 50 psi and see how it works.

You do not want to breathing any of the debris/media dust as it can really cause permanent damage to your lungs. Safety First!
