Years ago, my wife and I re-furnished our son’s room. We basically turned it into a shop. Instead of a desk, we bought a metal workbench with a “hutch”. A tall workshop cabinet became his closet.
A tool box with several drawers was his dresser. I hung old valve covers and a creeper on his wall.

Now, he is 27. And the above mentioned items are being used in his garage for their intended purposes. Turned out to be a good investment.

And....?????

Did the kid grow up to be a mechanic??

~ John

A kid raised on Hotwheels, Matchbox and Tonka cannot be reasonably expected to own only one vehicle as an adult.

Absolutely! And he excels at it. After a few short years, the dealership saw his potential and they sent him to one of Toyota’s schools. He quickly became a master technician. I take some of the credit…he grew up watching and then helping me fix everything from the microwave to water heater install! Now, I call him over when I get over my head!
