For years, the Stovebolt canopy has been a staple at Stovebolt events. Everyone looked for it as a gathering place for people with Chevy/GMC trucks that have questions, want to break bread, or have a beverage of choice. Today, in honor of the final leg of its journey around this country, it is getting a Galveston, TX beach send off.
Tut gets credit for the Texas leg of the journey as he attempted to hide it in my AD at SMN 2026!

I think we need a new one that is much lighter that we can proudly display along with an American Flag and Stovebolt Flag.

It's only right the Texas group have it, I inherited it from Don (2-Ton). Technically you got it from Tom 1954MI who got it from Me.
The Canopy spent 4 years with the Southern Bolters, it was at Lebanon TN the first 2 Jamboree's. It made the first 2 years at Townsend. I had it displayed at numerous local Car Shows and events. I passed it on to Tom and his Father Jim in 2024.

It was originally a gift to Stovebolt from Ed "DaOzTinman" Hoover and stayed for its first years with the Kansas City group (Don et al). I was always dreading that letter I suspected would be in the mailbox any day from the patent attorneys at GM because of the corporate logos on it. Perhaps you've been wondering why Stovebolt HQ suddenly moved to BFE, Alabama .... ? Anyway...
After a few years in KC, I was able to bring it East and the canopy even made it to HQ for a couple of years before it went South. Here's a few shots from its ODSS sojourn.
