Am installing a new electric wiper motor to my 54. With no seat in the truck, I am pleased at the amount of visibility and working room I can find under the dash. The unit came with an extra bracket, but there is no mention of this bracket in the instructions, and the vendor has no tech support. The unit is heavy enough that I can understand the value of an additional support, but can't see how it connects. Two Youtube videos show installation of 51-53 units, but they are different than the 54. Mayday, mayday.

Check out this Electric Windshield Wiper Conversion for 1947-55 Chevrolet / GMC Pickup Truck video. The kit that Brother's is installing isn't necessarily the LMC kit, but it includes the same bracket your asking about.

Hope this helps.

The Brothers video is like the others--labelled for 47 to 55, but only correct thru 53. The 54 is substantially different. I may be OK without the added bracket, but I will keep studying
