Hi all.

My rear passenger parking brake pivot is frozen. Causing the shoes to be pushed out just enough the wheel won't free spin. Any suggestion on how to free it?
Or remove it from the truck to clean it?

Beat it back and forth with an air hammer but it's still pretty frozen.

You can see in the picture the second pivot is fine, the part moves fairly freely and is sticking straight out. It's the main pivot closets to the backing plate that's really tight.

I removed the parking brake cable/hardware from the inside, but since the arm through the backing plate has mini pivot rod though it, I can't see how I would pull the entire assembly off the truck to clean it.

I ended up using a lot of penetrating oil. Beat it back and forth with the air hammer until it freed up enough to work it by hand. Everything moving freely. Thanks!
