Bill is probably best known to our Canadian 'Bolters as the biggest supporter and provider of parts and materials for their trucks, but he also had a following among many US 'Bolters too. Bill wasn't an official Stovebolt Member, but he certainly earned an honorary place in our community, and as such we wish to honor his life, accomplishments and memory here. You can read more about Bill and the "celebration of his life" in the Bill's Truck Shop Ltd. Facebook Pages. Although I never got the opportunity to meet Bill, I've read and heard about him from many 'Bolters posts over the years about what a big part he played in developing and supporting the Canadian Truck Community over the last 30+ years. I think this portion of his obituary may best speak to who Bill was to the community: "From humble beginnings as a mechanic, he followed his passion for classic trucks, and started Bills Truck Shop in 1990. Nobody could find the beauty in a rusty old Chevy Truck the way that he could, and he built his business into something he was incredibly proud of. His work ethic was unmatched."Many thanks Bill! Rest In Peace

I first met him 20 years ago when I acquired my 1953 3100 panel. He had a lot of everything, both original and later the new offshore stuff. He was very knowledgeable, also knew where to find what he had. He showed interest in our projects. Several years ago he completely lost his voice, that was his illness. I was at his place about 6 weeks ago and he wasn't there, which was a first. I didn't ask, but later I learned he had already died. It's a huge loss for this area he was a pioneer in our hobby and was truly one of a kind. Rest in peace, Bill. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 2,306 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 2,306 | Great guy never met him but ordered several times from them and always had good service and they were knowledgeable on the differences with the Canadian trucks. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,436 Moderator - The Electrical Bay | | Moderator - The Electrical Bay Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,436 |

It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it.
