A little while ago I bought 5 NOS Glass top fuel pumps, Unfortunately there are no boxes. 3 of them are chevy but 2 I can't ID. With a little help maybe I can get them a home at some point.

I've never seen fuel pumps of that design on a Chevy six.

Those are the two he said he was unable to ID. He said 3 were Chevy (unpictured.)

I had a fuel pump that came with my project that I couldn't identify. I called Then and Now Automotive in Weymouth, MA and described to them what I had. They might be able to tell you what the pumps are for. Good, knowledgeable folks!

I got a rebuildable pump from a fellow Stovebolter and ordered a kit to rebuild it from Then and Now. Very pleased with the result.

Thanks for the tip. They are likely pretty old. I don't know the history of the pumps and neither did they guy I bought them from, he got them as part of a bulk purchase. They are all likely quite old. One of the chevy pumps has a date code from the late 30's and one from the 40's. The others have no code or part numbers. The only notable marking is "Made in the USA" On all of them.

Just a note, turns out I did a real bad job adding pics, 3 of the same . I added another that shows the back of the pumps. Maybe that will help.

Well done JimGMC. That's the one on the right. What about the one on the left? Hahaha!

I think the one on the left marked with a "5" on the glass bowl is possibly a 1946-1953 Dodge truck and marine unit, original part number "AC 9289".

Here's some pictures found on evilbay that look like a very close match, although the glass bowl sections is mounted slightly differently.

Edit Note: The pump halves mount together on yours with only 6 screws vs 10 on the one I found. Still similar design, but maybe not an AC pump???

Good job! So out of my league. The suspected Dodge pump gasket surface has a ""similar" shape to the Chevy pumps, just not as tall. Is this typical of old Dodge trucks or cars?

Will also get a pic of the top of the Buick (?) pump. Will maybe clear a few things up.

Oswald - After looking at your latest picture I took an another excursion down the web rabbit hole. lol

There are too many subtle difference between your #5 and the Dodge to make a match I think. Further searching located these pictures in another evilbay ad for an AC Rebuilt Type 421 pump that looks very much more like yours. That one includes a box and the label indicates it would fit 1935-36 Chevrolet's. You can see those details in the attached pictures. Further searches of the box indicated part number "609454" indicates it was a Chevrolet offered exchange rebuilt fuel pump for 1935-36 vehicles.

With your other pump looking like it fits an early 1930's application, I think this may also fall into that time period. Hope this helps narrow it down.

Looks just like the one with the offset mounting bolt holes. Says it's an AC-405 pump used on 29-33 Chevy cars and trucks.
