I found a listing for a 1523089 Fuel Pump on the cheap, I see it's listed for 1937-51 trucks only. Will this work on a '55? Thanks!

The angle of the inlet and outlet ports changed in mid year 1955 to clear the center position motor mounts. Early pumps had the ports front and rear- - - -newer designs had them at 45 degree angles.

Oswald- Isn't your truck a '54 3600? The '51 fuel pump has the same output rate/psi as the one listed for 1955.2 Series engines, so it will work as far as performance, as well as fitting in your engine compartment as your '54 mount setup won't interfere with the fuel line plumbing.

If your truck was plumbed for the later style pump mentioned by Jerry, it's not that hard to change your fuel line layout to work with the earlier pump ports. wink

Thanks for the info, yes you are right. It's a '54 3600 so I guess it's just a plumbing issue. Which is fine by me since all that plumbing has yet to be done.
