I have been using a discount shipping site for over a year. It saves $ using UPS and USPS. Pirateship.com
Check it out. Box up your parts, measure dimensions, weigh it, then It let's you make and print labels at home. Then just drop off at the UPS store.

If you have a USPS account (free to sign up) they offer discounted rates on the Click-N-Ship thing. Here's a sample. Around 10% off normal rates. Pretty easy to use. You can set up an address book for frequent shipping spots.

There's easyship.com but I think their rates are about the same as Pirateship (which I've used since it started). Easyship claims to sell labels and supplies at discount rates, but I don't really know about that since I've never bought any.
If you sell several of the same sized thing and therefore need a specific size box, please check out Zoro as a supplier. Some of the stuff they handle is pretty fairly priced and they've been good to deal with.
The USPS has changed their sorting machines and some of the new ones can not handle 6 x 9 inch envelopes (24 pound and higher). The new machines seem to be located at regional processing hubs. Instead of processing them, they simply roll them on a wheel until metal "fingers" catch something, cause them to shred and the contents fall out and are lost. The postmaster says bubble envelopes will work but not all bubble envelopes. Evidently whoever sold them the machines saw them coming. They sound like pure Rube Goldberg junk. And they have increased the minimum size of box you can ship in...now it is 6" x 3" x .25" so I have had to buy a bunch of special boxes in which to ship the condensers. I can't put them in a small box which in turn is in a heavy envelope any more or they won't be delivered.

Heavy stuff like engines, transmissions, or anything else that can be strapped to a forklift pallet can be shipped from one Fastenal store location to another by Blue Lane Trucking. They're a totally owned subsidiary of Fastenal. Ive used them to transport engines and other big items, like a valve seat and guide machine that I bought on Ebay and shipped from somewhere in Wisconsin to middle Tennessee. Their rates are better than other LTL freight carriers. Jerry

I compared Pirateship to Shippo. Both gave the same rates on a package I have to ship from Florida to North Carolina.
