I got everything ready last night (but I've been cleaning the dump truck all week ...) and I'll be heading down the mountain in a bit to participate in the 1st show of the season here in Jackson County. Unfortunately, Charlie's manifold isn't back on yet so he's sitting this one out and I'm taking the Binderbolt and the Kaiserbolt instead. Hopefully I'll run into someone there but thus far, fellow 'Bolters in NE Alabama have been somewhat sparse. 1000-1400 at the Jackson County Fairground. Proceeds benefit veterans via our local Legion and VFW posts. If anything interesting shows up, I'll have pics later.

It turned out to be a far greater event than I was expecting! Did a lot of talking and visiting. Almost 200 vehicles there. Because the Jackson County Fairgrounds are owned and operated by the combined Legion/VFW, I also put on my Legion Hat and helped out -- We (members of the combined VFW Post 6073 and Legion Post 30) did a National Anthem salute and flag folding ceremony for the assembled crowd (easily more than several hundred people). Slipping back into my MOS, I served as narrator It was very motivational to hear from members of the audience that they had never witnessed a flag folding ceremony before and that it was very moving. Very much fun to narrate for a crowd like that.
And ... I even met a Stovebolter!!! Hopefully he'll chime in here.
Pics!!!! ....

John , Sounds like a great Day. It's such an pride to be able participate in a "Colors" ceremony. The average Joe has no experience with a Military honor.
I was a member of an Honor Guard Team while in the Army. It was a life moving experience.
That's a SWEET K5 Blazer...😎

Craig, When I was at the Academy, I served on the Protestant Chapel Color Guard (Started as Escort w/o rifle or sword of course and moved up to Lead with US flag). Cool as it is the only time the American flag is dipped. With my MOS (Public Affairs) and as a trained broadcaster (radio), I've been involved in a lot of ceremonies, parades, changes of command, retirements -- usually behind a mic but sometimes actually doing something. I was adjutant for a USMC Birthday Ball once so getting to do the sword manual in front of an audience who ALL knew the manual too and were judging me (that included my first drill instructor -- Dad!!) was fun. The most moving, incredible lifetime experience, though, was over the July 4th, 1994 weekend when we brought Cpl. Terry Hoffman, USMC home from Vietnam (KIA) and returned him to his family (both of his parents were still living). So I know what you mean!
I'm no Jimmy expert, but I think GMC called their version a "Jimmy" Whatever, it was beautiful. A really well done resto.

I was never part of anything as Grand as that. I did lead the "Missing Man " ceremony for the Governor's Ball here in Georgia. That was pretty involved.
