I had an old friend from High School made a photo and sent it to me. He used AI and I really like it.

Nice, but it looks like AI. I am a photographer, and have pretty mixed feelings about AI.. most of them not very positive. It's scary how easy it is to take a real photo and make it.. not real. Not talking about removing an errant bird or power line-something doable since the film days. But it's gone way beyond simply AI de-noising to remove excess grain, you can add people who weren't there. Or remove people who were. This is a lot of why Leica, Sony, Nikon and others have cameras containing content authenticity certification-metadata baked into the image itself says "Taken on Sony camera serial # xxxxx on YY/MM/DD and edited in Lightroom version xx.yy" and even tells what the edits were. Some news agencies won't accept an image as real if the content credentials say it's been edited in more than the most basic ways, like lifting exposure and contrast. Though slowly, the industry is taking steps to ensure that what you see is either real-or specifically labeled as AI generated.
Fake news is now super easy to tell your computer to generate, so be careful.
That's pretty easy to spot as an AI illustration. I like it. What I don't like are the videos and photos that are slightly harder to tell that they're AI.
