Can someone please share the exhaust manifold casting numbers that are appropriate for 1954-62 261 engines? I need one with the outlet flange angled toward the rear, not the straight down outlet. I've spent a considerable amount of time and effort rehabbing an exhaust manifold I took off a 261 engine, only to find that the only intake that matches up is one for a 216- - - -casting # 3835557. The difference is the spacing of the intake-to-exhaust attaching bolts. The exhaust I just reworked has a 2 1/2" measurement between the studs close to the valve cover, and on several other manifolds I have on hand those studs are slightly over 2" apart. Before I go to the effort to rework another exhaust, I definitely want to be sure the intake with the bigger head ports is going to line up! Thanks in advance! Jerry

Jerry, here's the parts listing with casting numbers for exhaust manifolds. I have no idea about the angle of the outlet, but the casting numbers may help. This came out of the 1929-1957 parts listing.

According to Hollander Chev used the same manifold for almost every inliner The casting No. 3835587 should work for a downdraft carb. The updraft model is probably kinda rare..
Thanks- - - - -I think I've got things sorted out. The 235 intake/exhaust assembly definitely uses a different spacing on the studs on the valve cover side of the heat riser housing. Jerry
