on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2022 Posts: 133 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2022 Posts: 133 | So, please correct me if Im wrong. I am also triying to adapt a newer harness for my project. under dash wiring was removed by PO. I am working on a 1956 chevy truck. 12 volt 235 with foot starter and a pertronix ignition. the ignition switch I have is from a newer (80s?) model chevy van with the following positions Acc-off-on-start. the back of the switch has Batt-ign-sol-acc-G1-G2.
As I understand it.
There is no wire from the ignition switch to the starter. It gets what it needs from the battery and your foot does the rest.
There is a wire from Ign to + on the coil.
Basicly power on/off to the coil is all the ignition switch is used for when starting the truck?
Am I correct, close or way off base?
Thanks any help or guidance on this issue.

The foot stomp is the switch for starter On position on switch to everything else you need power, ign coil, and other relays. ACC most people wire everything but the coil and some other items. most modern harnesses have this all figured out with a relay to on and another relay for ACC and it handle sit in the fuse box. Get the instructions for the one in the truck to help with that correct setup. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2022 Posts: 133 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2022 Posts: 133 | Hcb3200, Tank you for the confirmation and additional information.
