I need to find the size of the hole of the fitting shown in the picture below. This fitting screws into the front of the head on any GMC 228/236/248/256/270/302. The other end of the tubing attaches to a fitting that mounts low on the driver's side of the front of the block. The line supplies oil from the main gallery in the block to the head. The small size of the hole restricts flow to the head.
Any of you have one lying around that you can measure? Doesn't need to be exact. What is the largest drill bit that will slip in?

Bill - I don't have access to the physical part to measure, but some research through GMC Master Parts Books and military part numbers/specification listings revealed that I believe that the diameter of the flow restricting hole in the fitting diameter should be 0.078".

Where did you find the GM part number to FSN cross reference?

That came from Parttarget.com. It searches the NSN (National Stock Number) Data base, and if it is still active it will display the NSN and all the relevant info for that number (part). You can search by MFG or NSN number. This can help you find parts because it will list different manufactures for the part. 6107443 has two, GM 6107443 and Dana Corp. W246433. Plus, the military part number 7538599.
