Good afternoon all,

I just got my new set of Coker Classics and new to me wheels on Friday. When I got my 53, it had a set of chrome wheels and 25 year old tires, so I went looking for a good set of factory wheels and bought a set of low mileage ones from a friend.

I had them sand blasted and painted and ordered my Coker Classics, and I really like the looks of them. I have a set of hub caps ordered from Jim Carter that should be here next week.

Kevin - Looks really nice! thumbs_up Are you planning on adding the Chrome trim rings as well, or just the hubcaps?

Dan,

I am thinking about trim rings, and may eventually but haven't made up my mind yet.

Love the white walls, the trim rings add a nice finished look. I bought the Excelsior roadster bias looking radials from Coker earlier this year. I love the improved ride and handling. I was very shocked to receive the best wheel award at a show with them.

Nice looking truck Kevin! I also put a set of new Coker 600-16 classic bias-ply tires on my ’53 last year to replace a 30-year old set of Firestones and could not be happier. I’ve seen a few negative comments here about Coker’s but my experience has quite been the opposite. They are smooth, quite, well balanced, easy steering and turning is a breeze. I couldn’t be happier… Now finding a tire store willing to assemble them along with new tubes is another fun story…

Beautiful truck, Don!

I used to own a mariner blue 54.

I have over 4500 miles on a set of Coker Radials (Tube) and they are smooth and wearing well. I took my wheels after I blasted and primed them to my friend for body matching paint (Mariner Blue). Ordered the tires at Hershey and had to wait about a year. On a trip to Chattanooga where my mother lived, I had Coker mount and balance all 5. I realize that it is a departure from the work truck persona that these Advanced Design machines were born with, but my truck has a "Country Gentleman"
appearance that I like.

Nice looking truck Terry, no apologies necessary for how she is dressed. I tell everyone my truck is 75 years old, and is now retired as I am. The years of labor are behind the both of us, and the old boy relishes a clean up, some polish, admiration, and to reminisce about the old days when 50 was fast enough.
