Does anyone know of a source for the after marker spare tire side mount brackets? Or, does anyone have specs with dimensions? These can't be hard to build. Thanks.
This would be for a 1953 3600 truck. I actually have a 1949 3600, but know these side mount brackets were not available or introduced until 1953.
TGill, Here is an Older thread on your side mount tire question that has a bunch of pictures and hopefully helpful info. There still isn't anyone reproducing these, but as others have said they aren't that hard to fabricate. Side mount brackets do come up for sale occassionally, so you could search the web or just put an ad in the Truck Parts Wanted forum to see if anyone can help you out.

Some years ago I bought the pieces that were missing from two 54 sidemounts that I had from Ray Stanley at Wheelwright Restorations. That included the reinforcements that are on the back side of the bedside. Samantha
I made my own for my 49 3600. Did not take long at all, and its still holding strong after two years anyway. Just some angle iron, some 1.5x1.5 square tubing and I used an old wheel spacer from a dually and welded some wheel studs through there, just to save some time on the bolt pattern (and you have a couple spare lugnuts on hand).
That said I'm having an aluminum workbox cut down to fit right now and the tire may be in the way, so I may yet relocate the spare underneath which I don't really like, but... we shall see

Can't speak for a 3600 but can get dimensions for a 3100 an you can enlarge it(?) possibly.

You should make a batch of these! Nice! And I know this is an old thread… just in case you ever see this
Gage - You should be able to fabricate one for yourself and your 1 Ton. Some simple measurements, get steel stock, fab it, weld it, paint it and bolt it in.

Unfortunately living where I do, the cost of materials, shipping etc would probably make these cost prohibitive. I would hazard a guess that even the shipping costs for something like that from where I live, would outstrip the costs of just having a local fabrication shop make one for ya. I bet they could make you one up for a couple of hundred dollars US.
