I want to consider adding either reflectors or lights to the bed rolls on my '48 Chevy 1/2 ton truck. The driver's side bed roll (believed to be original) is slightly under-sized to accept these modern after-market options. Is there a simple manual method that a person would go about to slightly enlarge the end of a bedroll? Please advise.
A guy could drive a pipe reducer in to unroll it a bit, but I think it would look bad unless you expanded the whole thing, which would be just about impossible to do. I would look for reflectors that are the right size. I think one of the guys found some a few year ago. I used a 1-1/2" ball bearing (I think that was the size) on a slide hammer to round out a couple of flat spots on my bed roll. It became the dolly for hammer work to get the dents out.

The reflector that I included in the original post is that of the rare GMC truck 54/55 reflector--a really difficult find! The red reflector bed roll inserts that Mar-K produced are close reproductions. However, that option is out the window at this time with their demise. The picture in this response is what I have used at the end of my bed curls for several years now. It works for me...I just want to have options.
