From ad: 1960-63 Chevrolet truck GM #3845157 3-speed manual transmission, 16 spline model for a 235.5 cubic inch, 6-cylinder engine. NOS & Never installed from an old GM dealer service department complete with #3765708 bellhousing, clutch fork & shifter rods for $2000. Also have 1948-53 GM bellhousing #3701433 for Chevrolet or GMC pickups with 6 Cylinder & 3 speed manual trans includes clutch fork & shifter rods for $600.
I'd be a better believer of that transmission being NOS if the date casting codes actually reflected around a 1960 build date.
The main case date code = April 18, 1958 / The tail shaft housing date code = July 18, 1957 - The bell housing is definitely 1960-62 right hand side hydraulic clutch release. No way this setup comes close to a $2k value IMHO though.
The GM# 3701433 bell housing does fit Chevy 1948-53, but not the same for 1952 GMC. Price is outside of reality IMHO.
Maybe someone can talk some sense into the seller and get for a reasonable price.

Mike B - You are correct that if the main case date code is D183 (my old eyes and trifocals might have deceived me - lol) it could be a 1963 main case. Nice catch thank you!
I did a little deeper dive in GMPartswiki searching the case casting number 3743368. It appears that the main case number is actually associated with 1958-63 passenger cars, including Corvettes (see screen grab below). Of note in the Chevy Master Parts books is that trucks of those years used a different 3 speed case casting number, so this is definitely a car transmission.
One could use it in a truck if they choose, but that doesn't make it an NOS Truck 3 speed - lol!
