NEW TO THE GROUP

I've got a 1967 C50 and it has an all hydraulic braking system and we're looking to replace everything in the braking system including both front wheel seals and rear wheel seals.

Is there a 1 stop shop for everything you would recommend?

TIA
Brian

I like to order stuff from Rock Auto. I hate going to stores if I don't have to.

slimedcj - 1st off Welcome to Stovebolt! thumbs_up Since your asking for help on your 1967 C50, I've move your post to our Big Bolts forum as that the best place for further help and conversation on your truck. Others should be along soon to offer further help and suggestions. smile

My first stop would be to your local NAPA -- especially if they cater to customers with commercial vehicles. They probably won't have that vehicle in their computer but a good counterman/woman should be able to pull out the books and find what you need.

Hy slimedcj and guys, welcome, unfortunately the larger trucks of this era can have many different brake components, single systems, dual systems, different bore master cylinders and wheel cylinders, firewall mounted boosters and under truck boosters. Please take some pictures of the components you have and post them here, it will help us to determine what you have. Brakes on the larger trucks vary depending on the trucks GVW among other things.

Hi slimedcj, welcome to the forum. I was able to find rebuild kits for all 6 wheel cylinders and the master cylinder, I also rebuilt the Hydrovac with a nice kit. The wheel cylinders will have a casting number on them, that is the info you need for kits. I replaced all hard lines with copper-nickel and all hoses, brakes have been great for 4+ years with no issues. My truck is 10 years older than yours but the wheel brake set-up is probably very similar.

There is no one stop shop but I spent several weeks/months gathering these part numbers and finding modern ones that are still produced.

The following is for a 1967 c50 with 5000lb front axle, 15,000lb 2 speed vacuum shifted rear axle, and midland vacuum brake booster.

Front 14x2 shoes- Centric 111.02990
Rubber brake hose master cylinder- Dorman h38908
Rubber brake hose front wheels x2- Dorman h36697
Rubber brake hose rear axle- Dorman h71305
Brake master cylinder- Dorman m630823
Front right brake wheel cylinder- Raybestos wc19091
Front left brake wheel cylinder- Raybestos wc19090
Rear brake wheel cylinder x2- Raybestos wc37159
Rear brake wheel cylinder x2- Raybestos wc37160
5000lb front axle kingpin rebuild kit NO REAM- Stemco k51g
Moog plastic bushing kingpin rebuild kit- 8492n
Kingpin thrust bearing- timken t110
Front wheel bearings x2- timken 3578a and 15103s
Front wheel bearing race x2- timken 3525 and 15243
Front wheel seal- timken 8975s
Rear wheel bearings x2- timken 3982 and 33287
Rear wheel bearing race x2- timken 3925 and 33472
Rear axle vacuum shift diaphragm- Bendix 374451

Should be about everything except rear wheel seal, rear shoes, and rear brake spring kits.

All axle related parts are the same for 1965-1974 4000lb, 5000lb, and 7000lb front axles.

I don't have a truck in this era, but WOW that's a lot of awesome info you've posted for others to use!

Thanks for putting it all together and sharing!
