I’ve closed up the floor & footboard. Now about finished the bench seat coil springs.

I can’t believe I’m still working on this truck! I have gotten so much done now! I had a heart attack last October 2025, 5 stints placed, finished rehab & life is good!
I’ve finished the floor, rebuilt the seat & recovered it. I sit a lot higher than ever. I may have put a little extra foam on it.
My neighbor gave me a piece of conveyor belt that I put over the floor for insulation & quietness. The carpet is in but need to trim more around the gas pedal.
Now I’m also working on the door seals & vent latch.
I’ve driven it 4 times.
The breaks are not right so I’ll be working on them soon.
Still trying to figure out why the motor is using oil.

So glad yours is drivable! Where would someone look for a used conveyor belt? I hope to be driving mine this spring.

Utah York, if there are any millwright companies close to you check with them. Wide conveyor belt material is typical of coal handling conveyors like from power generation plants. The company I worked for before retirement always kept some from jobs done. The guys used them for all kinds of stuff, bed liners floor softeners around work benches etc.

I used a bbq grill mat the one I used was a good size covered the floor on the 54 is close to 1/8 thick and 30 by 48 .was about 30 bucks at the Canadian tire in Canada but I am sure they have them at the hardware store .

I’m looking for the vent latch pivot pin that goes through the metal frame & into the latch handle itself (so the end touching the glass is thin & flat) then has a pin that that goes through both. Just the pivot pin that the latch secures to. I found one but the shipping is $25. Does anyone have a better source? I’ll drop a photo of what I think it is & this may not be the one I need!
