Punch - Below is a diagram of the front wheel spindle and hub assembly showing the different parts from a
1929-41 Chevy Master Parts Book that shows you all the bits and pieces in there. You can see they used a "Felt washer" (Group 6.326, GM# 352488) as part of the front hub grease seal design to keep the grease from getting out of the spindle bearing area and onto the brakes.
Your inner bearing cup being stuck on the spindle is a bummer. You could try some penetrating oil soaks, and perhaps some love taps with a large wood dowel struck by a hammer in various places around the side of the cup (off the bearing run area) to try and free it up. If that persuasion fails to move it, you may need to use some semi-destructive force (hammer and cold chisel) to try and break whatever bond is holding it to the spindle. Those inner bearing cups, along with the rest of the bearing pieces can be found sometimes as NOS offerings on evilbay, or as reproductions through some of regular vendors.
