It looks like a 2-piece neoprene seal for a big block Chevy V8 can be adapted to the GMC sixes- - - -228 through 302. It will require machining of the block and rear main cap, somewhat similar to the way a Chevy six is done, and fabrication of a seal holder from either steel or aluminum. Then make a small change in the seal surface diameter on the crankshaft. This looks like a fairly straightforward operation for any engine machinist with a few brain cells to rub together!

On the 302, there isn’t enough meat. Especially in the case reinforcement ribs. I hope you can figure out a way to accomplish that.

That actually looks like it's going to be simpler than the conversion of a Chevy block for the full circle lip seal. More info as I develop a prototype!

Currently, I've got four GMC engines- - - -a 228, a couple of 248s, and a 270. Two more 270s are on the way soon. If my idea works as I hope it will, I'll be making several of the adapters.
