What color should the windshield wiper operating rods, that are visible in the cowling right in front of the windshield, be painted? The truck is a 1965 C10. I don't know if they should be black or body color.
Kevin - A stroll through several ebay ads with "used" original operating rods and wiper transmission sets shows they looks to be originally black (back sides are all black), but the front facing sections of the rods have body color overspray (?) I believe. The color overspray could be from a repaint, so it's hard to say for sure. Is the cowl opening panel behind the arms painted body color? Just my "opinion", but I think from the factory they may have been black as the cab would have been painted before they were installed. Your call on how particular you wish to be with this detail.

Kevin - On an added note, I was watching a video on wiper motor replacement on 1960-66 C10's and snagged the below screenshot of the operating rods when they guy took the cowl vent cover off. These appear to be originally black (well faded from age), so it's a good probability that the others used parts may have come from repainted trucks. Once again, your choice on how you want to decide.
