Hi, I've got this head that came off my '48 COE that I'm working on. I found a newer engine out of a '61 pickup but now I was informed that they found a crack after bead blasting it. So can this head work on that newer 235? This old one had the larger lifter cover that goes up around the spark plugs and the newer engine just had the smaller cover. Can they be used together? Thanks
A 1948 head isn't compatible with a 61 235. Bolt pattern is different. You'll need a head for a 235 of the same or close year as the '61 engine. Probably not that hard to come by,
