Question, is it possible to swap rear suspension leaf spring mounting hardware? Instead of long side of center bolt on my 50 3100 being the shackle end, make it the pin end? This an attempt at centering the rear axel in wheel opening, after swapping to an open driveline. Thought of just welding a flat plate to spring pad of axel, and drill a hole for center bolt, and bolt down at needed distance rearward. Any thoughts on this are welcome.

When doing this, how does it affect the drive shaft?

If you want to get it a little more centered, maybe not all the way centered….just drill a new hole further forward in the spring perch. I think I did an inch? Can’t recall exactly.
To Otto’s question…be prepared to source a new driveshaft or at least a new driveshaft yoke.
The torque tube style rear end used springs with an offset pin as it has a pivoting mount that moves the rear end to a more centered position. On a 55 1st series, the leaf spings had the locating pin centered to put the open drive-shaft rear end in the correct location. That relocating bracket looks pretty good. If the springs are at all questionable, ESPO https://www.springsnthings.com/leaf-spring.htm makes a great and affordable spring. You could just have them made to the 55 1st style.
