I have a 1941, Model AK, Chevy Pickup that I am trying to mock up a complete exhaust kit on. Can anyone tell me where spring, 368244 goes? Also, where and how the rear tailpipe hanger mounts? Any pictures or information would be appreciated.
I have a 1941 AL and can get pictures this weekend it should be similar.

Factory exhaust pipes on passenger cars had a clip welded on the top side (on the section of pipe that was flattened) and then a short spring from the clip to a corresponding frame hole above. In the 1942 Master Parts List, 368244 is listed as “Spring, exh. pipe clip” all coml. I can only assume the truck had the same setup with a different length spring.
Rexville48's info looks to be spot on. A scan through multiple Chevy Master Parts books provided the below pics. The exhaust diagram shows the "flattened" section of the pipe before the muffler where the "welded clip" was attached to the pipe and the spring connected to that and nearby frame hole. The diagram also provides details on the tail pipe hanger. The model application designation "all coml." includes the AK model so the spring definitely applies. According to the parts books, the dimensions of the spring are "5/8 O.D. - 26 coils - two hook ends". GM# 368244 is also used as the brake & clutch pedal return springs that fits 1934-1946 Chevrolet & GMC trucks. Overall Length is approximately 3-3/8".
