Like last year, we posted here what's appeared in our "News Corner." We found that some folks with cell phones (and maybe others) can not see the corner on the left. So we thought we'd also post here the "news" that appears in that top left corner. They come at a regular basis.
Other new items (Admin-type stuff) are posted here in News and Announcements as you may have found out.
We'll start with the two from January - New Years and this incredibly cold weather most of us experienced. HERE'S the link to the "Winter Work" mentioned.

Well. since *some* folks are hopefully done with this crazy cold weather, we just had to update the News Corner. AAMOF, our electric company here in Northeast Alabama stated in their monthly magazine that it's time to start planning for the garden! Early veggies may be going in the ground by the end of this month! Yay! (Hope they are right! )
So, enough with this "too cold" talk. This News Corner has a few options for Bolters.

*** Many of the local Bolters are planning their 2025 events. Check The Side Lots to see what may be in the works near you. Or even on your way from here to there.

We needed to change out the Valentine's Day News Corner. We wondered if we needed to go back to the "Brr ... Baby it's cold outside!" --- which most of us may still have some posts (and pictures!) to share there. Here at HQ ... it's crazy cold and more coming tonight!
BUT, we thought we'd think positive!

Hard to believe it's that time of year but DST was March 10 in 2024, so a day sooner. "Spring forward" as the saying goes. Even tho we lose an hour, the daylight is about 15 minutes more each week. Plenty to do with that extra light!
Kevin Hansen may have a different story for Alaska.

BTW: The spring equinox, also known as the vernal equinox, marks the beginning of astronomical spring in the Northern Hemisphere and occurs when day and night are nearly equal in length. In 2025, it will take place on March 20 at 09:01 GMT.
