The biggest difference between the US and Canadian small trucks is the engine. Canadian trucks use Chevrolet engines while US trucks use GMC engines.
'57 GMC 102, Original 347 V8, HydraMatic, 3.08 rear gear, added A/C, disk front brakes, HEI, AFB carb, '98 Honda Black Currant paint. T-boned and totaled 10/12 '52 GMC 152 Stake Bed, Original 228, SM420, added A/C, HEI, disk front brakes, '67 Chev 3.55 rear gear. Gets used as a real truck.
On the Maintenance Manuals, yes they are different to an extent between US and Canadian built. Here's a couple of links to some "Canadian GMC" manuals that you may have an interest in.

I have the reprint of the 1948-1953 Chev. Truck Shop Manual.

Kevinski, is that a misspell, GMC 9300 is CHEV 1300 (should be 3100or not?).
By that, my 9436 would be equivalent to a Chev. 3800 or 3942, depending on the rear springs and I have to check that.

Also if you plan on upgrading to a 235 engine from a 216 the newer book will have the engine imfo .i found one like this for my year but mine had a 235 in it origional.
I have a fully shop rebuild 216 for this truck. It has a CAD6300 work-order and I bought it for 3600 because the owner paid the deposit and never picked it up.
The truck will not do heavy work and it should be fine with the 216.
Interesting is that this truck has 11 leaf rear springs and 137" wheelbase with 7.00-17 8 ply tires. My book states that this truck should have dual wheels.

Model 9434 cannot have dual wheels Model 9433 can have single or dual rear wheels The hood badge will be 9430 either way The 2-5 position of the serial number in the door tag will be the specific model of the truck
If the truck was factory dual wheels it will have the special front hubs to use the same wheel on the front as the dual rears This modified front hub allows the 1 spare wheel to work in all 6 positions on the truck
It was common that farmers from Alberta to Manitoba would remove the single rear wheels and swap in a set of oem 18 inch duals while leaving the front axle original with the 17 inch wheels and hubcap
However the rear studs aren’t long enough unless you ignore the load spreading round plate and just bolt the two rims on with the lug nuts directly on the outer rim
Dual rears wheel trucks had studs that were about 1/4 inch longer than single rear wheel trucks. The slightly longer studs are quite difficult to source. -s
edit, the rear stud length difference is longer than i recalled, here are some specs from the parts books: rear wheel stud 46-52 3/4, 1 TON (w/sgl. rear wheels) hub (use w/forged hub having 5/8 flange) 3680899 (1.75") 46-52 3/4, 1 TON (w/sgl. rear wheels) hub (use w/cast hub having 7/8 flange) 3697045 (2.0") 46-52 1 TON (w/ dual wheels) hub (use w/forged hub having 5/8 flange) 3680991 (2.25") 51-52 1 TON (w/ dual wheels) hub (use w/ cast hub having 7/8 flange) 3697734 (2.5")
attached a photo of some of my trucks, one is factory dual rear with the special front axel, the other is a single rear wheel that someone put duals on afterwards any truck with a metal step side box could only have single rear wheels
