With my engine mounted in the frame I'm ready to start adding things. Going through parts I bought 20+ years ago, I have two water pumps (not sure why?). Anyway, one has a single hole and comes with a plug. The other has two holes. I believe these are for the heater? I do have a heater to connect later, but do you guys have any preference as to which water pump I should be using? I'm thinking the one with two holes and I'd have to buy some fittings to make it work with heater hoses. Both fit the front of the engine are for my 235 conversion.

The single plug will work with heater the old pump from your 216 should have the nipple .The other hose will go to the thermostat housing.I don’t know what the two plug water pump is there for but one can be plugged with a fitting .

The return hose from the heater usually goes into the thermostat housing. I’ve never seen a water pump with two tapped holes. But like Kevinski said, plugs are available.

Yes - my 216 water pump has one hole. I'll move the nipple to the new water pump (black one). Thanks guys!

The water pump with the two holes is off a 261 jobmaster. Its for the water bypass.
