Doug, not questioning your decision, but I considered buying new vent window assemblies till I saw the price.
I found another used pair and between the two sets, managed to rebuild one set to good shape. Jerry Kassis' videos were very helpful. Here and Here.

Update 2/28/25

Been a long winter but it warming up so back on the truck.

Both doors are installed now. Drivers side is giving me alignment fits but I’ll get it figured out later.

Got both inside windlace psycho installed. What a fight that was but history now. Little dance around the truck that day.

Got the rubber floor mat in. Let’s call this one a template for the next and final install.

Got it licensed last Thursday so just waiting on me now.

Installed the rear bumper today. That was a bit of a fight getting everything to line up but in the end I won.

That’s the last of the major parts. Next will be the head liner.

Seems like you have hit a real milestone with making it street legal. Glad to hear that you are getting it on the road after all your hurdles.

Rear bumper is painted. I’ll do some chores around the house then pull the paper off and take it out onto the driveway and wash it for the first time in a lot of years. Then a drive around the circle to make sure everything works. If everything checks out it will be time to go out for first real road test. Yippee

Need to get it and have some fun ! Wish our weather up north would cooperate.

Update 3/2/25

Drove around 10 miles yesterday for first time out. Everything worked fine. It seems like it ran better as I went. By the time I made it home it idled better and restarted on first crank.

Got a good bit of play in the steering which I’ll post on when it warms up and I can work on it.

As a side note I got the windshield wipers on and aligned perfectly. Works really good at an idle anyway.

Update 4/16/25
Found that the alternator it came with wasn’t working. Dead battery a couple times told me that. So installed a new one. Still got a dead battery. Couldn’t find what was draining it so I installed a battery disconnect. Seems fine now.
