| | | | | | Joined: Oct 2024 Posts: 26 'Bolter | 1955 3100 The truck was purchased and given a restoration in Oregon in 1998/99. The owner made an extensive list of work done which stayed with the truck.
Sadly no photos of the vehicle prior to rebuild. It cost $450 and was trailered home.
It was bought by another US owner who brought it to New.zealand in 2020. They kept it till about 2006/07.
It had one more owner for eight years until we purchased it in September 2015. It looked very much like it does now. I added the woodwork and an inbred timber toolbox.
Since then I’ve done a considerable amount of work on mostly minor things, but lots of them.
The more major things include new rear axles (Dutchman), complete re-wire, and the engine is currently getting a major rebuild after cracking a cylinder head.
The engine was not in good shape even though it ran well. It was originally a car engine and has a higher compression head fitted.
The truck is totally stock with a 235 and SM420. ( it was originally a 3 on the tree at some stage of its life)
The gearbox is in pretty good shape. It’s from a later 60’s truck.
It’s still in LH drive configuration and lap seatbelts were added as part of the import requirement.
The steering wheel is probably original and I sometimes wonder who was the driver, what they used the truck for and where they were going in it. | | |
