Hello,

I’ve got a 1961 C40. All original. Been looking online and have not found too much info.

Anyone else have one of these? 235 six, 4 speed.

When I have time and money to burn, my plans are to change to alternator, covert to FI, change out the split rims and tires.

Thanks.

That looks like a very nice truck. Welcome. Others may have info.

1st off - Welcome to Stovebolt, this being your first post and all (even though you have been with us a long time)! grin What kind of "info" are you looking for??? There are lots of resources available online and stuff in the various Shop Area Forums that you can find existing conversations about the alternator change (in the Electrical Bay), putting "FI" (fuel injection) on your 235 (Engine Shop and HiPo Shop) and in the Big Bolts forum for the wheel conversion.

Let us know what we can help with or post new questions in the best on-topic forum to begin gathering your info. Once again - Welcome! thumbs_up

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, been a member but you know how it is. Kids, work, other unforeseen events. Time flies. Before you know it, you wonder where the time went. I’ve also got a 1962 GMC carryall I want to restore. Too many projects, too little time.

One minute you're pulling your daughters in the trailer behind your bike, and the next minute they're grown and one's in college!!

Where does the time go?

Nice rig! Sure don't see many of that series.
If the specs are the same as 1960 it has 19.5 wheels, GVW ratings of 10,000 , 12,000 & 14,000 lbs.

A 19.5 is a tubeless tire with an equivalent profile as an 18" tube type tire. The wheels in the pic are definitely 20" tube type, but I can't see enough of the rear wheel to tell if it's a RH-5 "widowmaker" or one of the relatively safe 2 or 3 piece "split rim" wheels with an outboard lock ring.
