Is there a seal of some kind between the fender and bed on '56 stepside?

My guess would be no. When I took my 1951 truck apart, there was no gasket, and original color paint had run between the bed and fenders. Doesn't mean you couldn't put something in there.

Since your topic is Paint and Body related, I'll move it over there.

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.

There was no welting on my ‘55 when I disassembled it. Just original body color paint.
