I have a '52 3100 which needs a 6 volt generator. I have a hodgepodge collection of generators and one of them may have come from my original '52. Anyone know what the part number would be?

Do any of them have black paint on the ID tag? 6 volt Delco-Remy generators had black tags- - - -12 volt has a red painted tag. If you can post some part numbers I might be able to look up amperage capacities, if not actual year of manufacture information. Most 6 volt generators had a straight housing with a spring steel band surrounding the brush area. 12V types usually had a longer, stepped-down housing with no band. Jerry

1102749 1A29 is the one I have at my house. Straight housing and has a steel band brush cover. I have others in a storage shed at a buddy's house which I need to scrounge through.

Funny that 1102749 is listed in the 1929-1954 Chevrolet Master Parts and Accessories Catalog as eligible for a $2 exchange credit (see below), but isn't listed under either "New Generator Assemblies" nor "Rebuilt Generator Assemblies" (see further below).
'57 GMC 102, Original 347 V8, HydraMatic, 3.08 rear gear, added A/C, disk front brakes, HEI, AFB carb, '98 Honda Black Currant paint. T-boned and totaled 10/12 '52 GMC 152 Stake Bed, Original 228, SM420, added A/C, HEI, disk front brakes, '67 Chev 3.55 rear gear. Gets used as a real truck.
From reference material I found in a 1954 American Electric Automotive "Fast Moving Parts Catalog", the Delco Remy 1102749 was listed as original equipment for 1951-52 Chevy Trucks (ALL) and 1950-52 GMC Trucks (100-22, 150-22, 250-22, 280-22 models and 1951 P152-22 Delivery Trk) with a note that said "Order 9-U Rebuilt or 1102719 New" for replacements. That part number in some cases was only 1 of up to 4 different #s used depending on the application.
Carl, sound like you have exactly what you need for your '52!

papas52, Just to add to your factory stock confirmation, 1100013 is listed as 1 of 3 different Delco Remy numbers for the Chevy 1952 Trucks, along with Carl's 1102749.

Thanks! Two months ago had a surprise visit by the 86 year old son of the orginal purchaser whom i purchased it from some 30 years ago. He even drove the truck.
Thank you gentlemen. My lucky day! I also got confirmation of my number from Brad Allen. He PMed me a picture of a 52 Chevrolet book which shows a picture of a generator with the tag with my number on it along with text which specified that it was for '52 trucks. All I need to do now is have the commutator turned a bit on the lathe to true it up and replace the rear bushing. The front ball bearing has no up and down play and turns smooth as silk. The rear bushing isn't all that loose and the shaft is smooth, but I have a bushing laying around somewhere.
