I bought this used derelict English wheel at a price I couldn’t refuse. Took me about three hours to clean up the surface rust on the different dies and grease the bearings. They move pretty freely now. It works as intended, but if you apply a lot of pressure, there is some deflection of the upper arm that makes it less effective. I’ll probably get around to reinforcing it one day.

Some flat plate welded on the sides of the upper arm would stiffen it up nicely. The wrinkles where it was bent is probably where it needs it the most.

That looks like the one Harbor Freight sold a few years ago. Good design, but they cut a few corners where rigidity is concerned. It's very fixable with a few reinforcing plates in critical areas. Good score! Jerry
