Ed, This is a pic I found on the web (on my phone) that kinda shows the inside rear view mirror in a 1955-59 GMC.

Lots of our normal suppliers offering a complete mirror and arm that they say fit both GMC and Chevy.

Hopefully others may post different pics to see installation better.

Dan, does that have a vertical bolt that goes into your ceiling behind your speaker?

Ed

Ed, The picture isn’t mine, just one I found on the web. Here is a picture of a reproduction unmounted mirror arm offered on eBay that may help show how it should mount.

Hope it helps answer your question. If not, let me know and tomorrow I can look in my 1955-59 FAM to see if there is a better diagram.

The speaker box has a notch on the bottom that the upper screw area of the mirror arm passes through.

These are from my 58. Do they show what you need to know?

If not, let me know specifically what you need and I can take some more for you.

Guitplayer- That one looks like several I came across this morning that turned out to be early to mid 1960's Truck rear view mirrors.

For Ed, below are some more screen grabs of 1955-59 GMC and Chevy inside rear view mirrors installed that I snagged from the web this morning. Some with the speaker box and some without. I did rummage through my electronic 1955-59 Chevy FAM and found there isn't a picture or diagram of the inside mirror install anywhere in there - blah! I also looked through a 1957 Chevy Accessories Installation manual. I found the diagram and instruction for the speaker box, but nothing on the inside rear view installation. Anyhow, hope these pics will help you figure out your install Ed. smile
