I have this part that I found laying inside of my engine bay and I don't remember if I took it off of something or if it was already laying in there. I'm trying to figure out what it is, looks like a switch of some kind. It's from a 56 chevy 3600.

You probably have a new one already on it. It mounts low on the fire wall engine side under the brake pedal lever. It was probably replaced & the old one left in there.
