Both below normal, but ahead of our 3 year drought.

Nothing bad here. We have drought areas west of us and our lakes and rivers are way low! | | | | Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 48 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 48 | I live in the Anderson area which is about an hour northwest of Houston. We have had tons of rain which has got our grass growing and everything green. Our temperatures have been fantastic. We are having temperatures in the 70s to 80s. Normally we 85-95. We have had so much rain Huntsville has flooded. Water is the main highway from Huntsville to College Station and it flooded close to us and flooded close to College Station. We are high and dry. We live on the rim of the Brazos Valley. We got 10 inches in one week. But come July and August we may be crying for rain.

Will have to go out to those within the next few weeks, assuming those areas dry out.
We've been fine in the suburbs on the north side of Houston... Just depends on one's proximity to the creeks and rivers whether there are issues or not. | | | | Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 48 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 48 | The water is down right now. We are suppose to get more rain tomorrow. I don’t know how much rain we will get. The water runs off pretty fast. The Navasota river is still kind of high but some of that is run off from up north of us. If we get moderate rain tomorrow I don’t think we will see any flooding. Right now it’s showing that after tomorrow the next week is clear. I think that the chances for flooding is gone until next fall.

All rivers have flooded and are finally going back down somewhat, we're something like 9 inches over average year to date rainfall, trees (large ones) have been blown over and/or completely uprooted and we need air traffic controllers for the mosquitoes around here. In the 50+ years I've lived here I haven't seen this much of a widespread disaster. Our neighborhood was without power for 16 hours and we were one of the lucky ones...some lost power for 4 days.

You could also see foundations with no house or upright structure that was intact.
Crazy weather! | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 5,139 Authorized Pest | Authorized Pest Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 5,139 | That sounds awful and scary. Seeing the images from the news looks bad. I can not imagine what it's like seeing it in person. Today's broad forecast is "Millions of people across the southern Plains are on high alert for threats of more tornadoes, hail and severe storms well into the evening hours." And the extreme heat, with many without power. Keep us posted and stay safe.
