I’d like to give a warm “Stovebolt” welcome to our newest member of the Project Journal forum, azcornman.

Richard, is a retired farmer and a fourth generation Arizonan. Having already build a ‘67 C10 and a ‘53 Chevy pickup, He is not a stranger to “Stovebolts”!

For years He’s had a real urge to build an AD Suburban, but like many of us ‘Bolters, life got in the way. Eight and a half years ago, His son showed him this 1952 GMC Army Ambulance posted on Craigslist AZ, and so “Building the Dream” finally got underway. His son, who did all the body work, paint and his “extra hands in reassembly”, helped make his dream come to a reality, and built lifelong memories to boot!

Although this build is already, completed (is it ever really finished), Richard has agreed to document his journey to show how he arrived at building such a beautiful truck.

Here is a link

You can jump forward and see his finished truck here.
